The Cabinet has given approval to an investment of 814,052 euros to connect the Station Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) from Ceuta to the raft of regulation of irrigation, declared emergency, allowing better water management refined.
The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, met today with the new Mayor of Ceuta, Manuel Gonzalez, to discuss this work and other matters of local interest.
The connection of the WWTP with the raft of inheriting from Ceuta, with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters and whose management has been transferred to the City, includes the construction of a pumping and power line medium voltage, a transformer and a pipe, and the subsequent upgrading of roads and access.
This will achieve cost savings and improved flow of purified water management assigned to these irrigators.
In addition, the CHS has invested 483,834 euros in 2007 in connection with the raft of regulation Alguazas ditch, which distributes the stored water to irrigators Alguazas and Ceuta.
Both works present a budget for this effort irrigation community has better ways to store and optimally distribute the available water.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, through Acuamed, has invested around one million euros in the environmental soundness of the Segura river passing through the town.
These works included the restoration of hydraulic elements, the reinforcement of vegetation, signaling pathways of interest, improving access to urban centers and creating a bike lane.
