The Director General of Local Government, Javier Iniesta, with the mayor of Ceuta, Pascual Lorente, today inaugurated the refurbishment of the Town Hall Square in the town, which involves an investment of 175,000 euros, provided entirely by the Autonomous Community.
With this action, the regional government responds to the demands of the inhabitants of Ceuta to improve this urban space, high traffic, which has been endowed with a pergola to provide shade areas with potted flowers and ornamental plants.
In addition, existing bollards have been removed to avoid accidents of pedestrians, who have been replaced with new street furniture and benches, and has rearranged traffic.
After inaugurating the new Town Hall Square, Iniesta and Lorente visited the church square, where they discovered the sculpture "Virgin Mary, source of life ', donated by the artist Carlos Callizo, which in 2006 received an Honorable Mention in the Awards National End of Studies in Fine Arts awarded by the Ministry and is responsible for designing the renovation of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
