The city of Ceuta has approved an ordinance that will allow all the physically disabled residents in the municipality have an exclusive parking space near their homes and a ford on the sidewalk to facilitate access from the street.
The ordinance regulates the granting of the "European parking card for people with disabilities" for passenger vehicles carrying disabled people who suffer severe mobility problems requiring the assistance of another person or mechanical devices and that the unfit for normal use of public transport or walking.
Is only necessary Voter Registration Certificate of the European parking card and an opinion Murciano Technical Institute for Social Action (IMAS) to demonstrate conclusively that allow mobility problems of the beneficiaries.
The municipality shall assume all costs of upgrading of roads where parking lots are located and the fords, which in both cases also may be applied to workplaces of those affected, as well as its urban road signs.
This action joins the booking process for disabled parking throughout the village, already begun by the city of Ceuta, with parking next to public buildings, including schools, as well as the progressive removal of architectural barriers in the way public parks and gardens.
