The managing director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region (IVS) from Murcia, Jane Brown, today met with the Mayor of Ceuta, Pascual Lorente, to know the status of various projects that the autonomous body is developing in the municipality .

These include the rehabilitation of 64 housing, in which the Community, through the IVS, has invested 630,000 euros and which were finished in January 2009.

Juana Brown noted that "the action that affects two groups of social housing located in the Acequia Street, San Pedro, San Juan, Rambla, Juan Andujar and Tejera, aims to improve living conditions and contribute to improving quality of life of the 64 families living in the house. "

The Managing Director visited the homes IVS accompanied by the mayor and councilor Ceutí Planning, Works and Services, Matías Sánchez.

Promotion of social housing

Also, Brown visited the IVS parcel acquired in the municipality, through a contest held land in 2007 for the promotion of social housing, and will be tendered in the coming weeks.

The land, located on Calle Las Viñas, has a total area of 1,100 square meters and is intended to build public housing that is eligible to any citizen, regardless of age.

In this regard, the Director encouraged all concerned to meet the requirements requested to register with the Register of Claimants of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, to participate in the public drawing to be held for the awarding of housing .

Also, Brown recalled that, in addition to the town of Ceuta, the Housing and Land Institute is to promote housing in Benizar (Moratalla), Mazarrón, El Jimenado and Los Cachimanes (Torre Pacheco), Bullas, Lorqui Cehegín, Santa Lucia (Cartagena) and Espinardo (Murcia).
