The City of Ceuta, through its Department of Agriculture, has submitted the necessary request to the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) compensation for damages by the recent flooding in the area of ​​El Soto, situated in the hamlet documentation Los Torraos.
"The Segura river flooded as a result of flooding caused by rains last September, a situation that we warned more than two years that could be very dangerous for the environment," explains area councilor, Jesus Hernandez .
And it is that in early 2013 the City of Ceuta presented to the CHS a report by the local body responsible for civil protection and extended by municipal technicians on the possible negative consequences arising in the area if a flood occurred in the river.
"Furthermore, in the meeting we had last week with the CHS and municipal representatives of the Vega Media mayor, Juan Felipe Cano, and I remember the hazard before the rains this time," says Hernandez.
"We do not understand that in such a complicated situation of the river Segura as it passes through Ceuta, contrasted with the corresponding technical reports, the cleanup of the margin has begun CHS by Contraparada" says Hernandez.
