The City of Ceuta held on the evening of Thursday 15 October the "International Day of Rural Women" with a simple but moving ceremony at the Civic Center in the hamlet of Los Torrao.
With the participation of the Councillor for Women and Equality, Pura Hernandez, the headman mayor of Los Torrao, Bethlehem Nieto and twenty attendees, the event began with a welcome by the mayor, who then read a manifesto putting in Figure value of rural women throughout the history of both the municipality and our country.
Subsequently, they told attendees themselves and their own family experiences in the life of the garden, and how they have been changing social habits and traditions regarding the role of women.
In addition, the oldest wizard started to sing own songs recalling ancient rural environment Ceuta.
Also, workshop participants read the Civic Center of Los Torrao women organized an exhibition of tools, equipment and elements of the traditional houses of the garden, whose use was duly explained.
To finish the event, the City Council presented to the participants in this commemoration with a cast of flowers.
