On Wednesday 16 September the seventh disinfestation treatment was performed against Diptera in the bank of the River Segura as it passes through the city of Ceuta.
This is the process that takes place every year at this time and consists of a total of 8 sessions ending last summer.
"The heat intensifies the discomfort caused by insects in this area, so every year should be performed this control treatment with the arrival of the first warm days," said Councilman of Environment, Jesus Hernandez, recalling that there is still one more session to conclude this annual campaign.
In this work, among other measures it carried out a treatment to eliminate mosquito larvae through a biopesticide formulated with prior to the work with the insecticide selectively toxic bacteria.
This is part of the collaboration agreement established for years between the neighboring municipalities of Vega Media through which flows the River Segura and has two objectives: to eliminate both these pesky insects and their larvae-adult specimens and reduce costs operation.
