The GARM Association (Animalist Group Murcia), the SDARM Society (Society for Animal Rights in the Region of Murcia), the Humane Association Refuge Angeles and individual states, have called a protest legally permitted concentration to show their rejection of the use of animals in several events planned by the City Council in the festivities of Ceuta.

The protest will take place on Friday August 14 at 17:30 hours at the site located near the Restaurante El Mirador, at the conclusion of 'the pigs in mud' is planned.

The event will include the reading of a manifesto and sample banners with animal content and messages of rejection to this type of "Dante shows and other similar features where animals are used as objects without any qualms about your pain."

This concentration is intended to inform, always peaceful, there is a large part of society that is positioned against "these frivolous and full of cruelty acts."

Also, inform the competent authorities that the "celebration" could constitute a crime by breaching current legislation on animal protection, as in this "show" animals clearly suffered physical and psychological stress due to harassment, persecution and physical manipulation with violence they face.

This act causes them panic and unnecessary suffering and even injuries of various kinds, all while the public (including minors) applauds.

Finally, with regard to the statements issued by the City of Ceuta and its mayor Juan Felipe Cano on alleged threats and coercion members of the Festival Committee of Ceuta, we want to clarify that we do not understand the meaning of them, unless is an attempt to criminalize an action that is peaceful and insist with the sole purpose of raising public awareness to ban these celebrations, as they are contrary to the rights and welfare of the animals.

In this sense, and if true the assertions of Mr. Juan Felipe Cano has our full support and encouragement to proceed with its complaint with the competent authority
