In the 'Set Program', a community strategy developed in collaboration with primary care providers and municipalities in the Region have already participated more than 5,000 patients
The Ministry of Health and Social Policy, through the Directorate General of Socio Planning, Pharmacy and Citizen, has signed an agreement with the city of Ceuta to launch in the locality the 'Set Program', set in the Health Plan 2010-2015.
The development of this community program in Ceuta starts after the signing of an agreement between the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Catherine Lorenzo, and the mayor of Ceuta, Juan Felipe Cano.
It is, said Lorenzo, an initiative that "local councils and primary care professionals have a crucial role."
Through this strategy, the aim is to encourage physical exercise to contribute to the improvement of certain pathologies chronic, promote prevention and ultimately, improve the quality of life of patients.
Thus, one of the main tasks of 'Active Programme', he said the minister, "is to remember the importance of promoting self-care and combat sedentary lifestyles".
Until late last year, the 'Set Program' was being implemented in 18 municipalities in the region with the support of professionals in 44 health centers Primary Care Murciano Health Service.
In total, more than 5,000 patients who your physician or primary care nurse prescribed to participate in this initiative.
The 'Set Program' is structured in a series of 30 sessions spread over three weekly sessions of one hour.
In total, 10 weeks of activity, ie approximately one quarter.
Currently, more than 350 patients participating in the 'Set Program'.
In this regard, the minister concluded, "is the response of the municipalities, citizens and professionals that moves us to continue to bring this initiative to all parts of the Region".
