The City of Ceuta has adhered to the strategy of "Health Promotion and Prevention" in the national health system, contained in the partnership between the Ministry of Health and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces for enhancing the "Spanish Healthy Cities Network."
This strategy proposes the progressive development of interventions identified as best practices based on scientific evidence, aimed at promoting health, preventing disease, injury and disability acting holistically throughout the lifetime on factors such as physical activity , food, snuff, alcohol and emotional well-being, taking into account the environments in which people live.
"The actions that will be activated in the first phase will focus on providing the public advice and support on how to make their lifestyles are healthier," explains ceutiense Councillor for Health, Francisco José Vidal.
In addition, information and collaboration (health or otherwise) available resources in the area will be provided to promote healthier life styles and these actions will focus on child population, during pregnancy and lactation and in the adult population.
"Local governments have a direct influence on the health of the population by working together across sectors and we have the participation of citizens," said Vidal, who notes that the day on healthy eating held last November 16 at the Square City and aimed primarily at families with children were included in this initiative.
"Through games and shows tips on how to conduct healthy and fun on the eating habits is offered," says the mayor, who anticipates that on Wednesday November 26 (17 hours) a talk on healthy eating will be held in the Pensioner Home Township.
