Pedro Guerra is the guest artist of the "XIV National Sample songwriting-Songs of May 2013", held in the auditorium of Ceuta between 29 and 31 May.
The Minister of Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz, the mayor of Ceuta, Juan Felipe Cano, and the Councillor for Culture of this council, Ascension Nicholas, presented this morning in Murcia this year's contest.
Cano said that for the city of Ceuta is an achievement to have managed to keep an event like this, despite the bad economic times.
An achievement, he said, because after fourteen editions still maintaining excellent quality, as evidenced by leading artists involved, all of them of national prestige.
The mayor added that he also is a satisfaction to have the support of the Ministry of Culture, that "apart from the economic boost, is the best guarantee for a show of this magnitude."
He thanked also that the media continue to recognize the importance of the contest with its dissemination.
"We will continue supporting this form of cultural expression," he said.
Councillor for Culture stressed the fact that Cantigas de Mayo is organized once again with a tiny budget, since participants do not receive financial compensation and the guest, Pedro Guerra, acting at the box office.
