The mayors of Ceuta, Lorqui Cotillas Towers and Archena meet that first morning in town with representatives of the National Association for Welfare Services Unit (ANSAD), an organization that promotes a "City of Gerontology."
Ceuta is among the first municipalities to host this resort candidate nursing home, a pioneer private project in Europe that would have 4,000 homes, a hotel, a college of gerontology and two nursing homes, all aimed at caring for people of elderly.
The project will help to create between 1,500 and 2,000 direct jobs, plus many more indirect and would involve an investment of between 300 and 400 million euros.
The idea of ​​this project is that retirees can buy a home in the resort at cost so they can maintain their independence, while they provide some basic care.
When they are no longer able to live on their own, then they could move into the residences of the complex.
The required funding for the complex-the first of its kind to be built in Europe is held by a group of domestic and foreign investors, now shuffled between different cities of Spain the possible fate of the city of the elderly.
Regarding the location and area proposed by the City of Ceuta in their municipality, "City of Gerontology" occupy about 400,000 square meters next to the road to Mula, near the hermitage of San Roque and the sports complex Miguel Indurain .
