The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the Mayor of Ceuta, Manuel González, presented this morning the project "Cultural Heritage: Exploiting Opportunities for Rural Development, a national seminar of the European program" Chord "to the creation of cultural innovation designed to enhance tourism and promote local economies.
The seminar, being held until April 9, began this morning at the Plenary Hall of the City of Ceuta with a conference on "Heritage and Tourism: Tourist Consortia in the Region of Murcia and Tourism Promotion Plan", by Pio Garrido, Manager of the Tourist Consortium of Mazarrón and another on the "Service Centre for Cultural Resources of the Diputación de Valencia", made by Rosa Marti, the technical body.
In the afternoon, the Councillor for Culture of the City of Ceuta, Presentation López Piñero, will speak on "Cultural exchanges through twinning", during which he will present the experiences of the city of Ceuta with French sister city of Saint-Berthevin, and learned from other processes already begun to bond with other European cities.
Ceutí City Council has already proposed to CHORD partners the possibility of collaborating in future projects, networks of twinned towns.
The days of 8 and 9 April will be devoted to visits to museums Ceutí: The Canning Museum, seven fireplaces, Antonio Campillo Museum, Open Air Museum, as well as local companies, including a "Canned Gloria" traditional factory that for years have attended the ceutienses to develop and package the products they grow.
Day 9 in the morning, there will be a craft show in the plaza of the City of Ceuta with public workshops.
With total of 9 partners from Spain, France, Italy and Greece, the "Chord" has developed pilot initiatives in the various territories, international advocacy of cultural resources, research on threats and opportunities facing as well as international meetings to exchange experiences.
