The General Director of Water, Miguel Ángel del Amor, visited the works today so that the irrigators of the Community Zone V (sectors I and II) of Ceutí can take advantage of the concession of 1,43 cubic hectometres per year of purified water, coming from Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Las Torres de Cotillas.
The works will benefit the entire irrigation area of this Community of Irrigators, composed of 450 community members and which has a surface area of 1,554 hectares, mainly for the cultivation of fruit trees and citrus fruits.
The general director explained that "this case is of special interest to be a Community of Irrigators that supplies water from the transfer and whose flows have been depleted by the current situation of drought, supplying part of them with this performance."
The budget of the works amounts to 1.3 million euros and have a subsidy of 50 percent of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, within the framework of the Rural Development Program of the Region of Murcia 2014-2020 , co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
