The energy efficiency measures proposed in the energy audit conducted by the Institute of Development under the European project 'Elena-Fuensanta' (European Local Energy Assistance) allow the City of Ceuta save 19.49 percent on your bill light.
This audit analyzes the energy performance of municipal buildings and proposes a number of improvements in lighting systems and thermal systems of six of them, which would mean a saving of 35,692 euros per year and a reduction of CO2 emissions 72 tons, equivalent to a forest with an area of ​​nearly four football fields.
Info director, Javier Celdrán, today presented this audit the mayor of Ceuta, Juan Felipe Cano, and stressed the involvement of the municipality in the fight against climate change.
"Ceuta is one of the municipalities that is proving with facts its commitment to reducing energy consumption and emission of greenhouse gases. In fact, these actions in public buildings in addition to the measures being taken by the municipality to make the system more efficient street lighting, measures that will result in savings of 265,000 euros and which must be added those included in the energy audit, "he said.
Specifically, we have analyzed all municipal facilities and have collected data on the consumption of each, in addition to reviewing supply contracts.
Subsequently, we have identified a series of measures to be applied in buildings of the town hall, the municipal nursery school, cultural center, sports complex and Antonio Peñalver facilities sports centers and Miguel Indurain Antonio Camacho.
Among the proposed actions include passing the lighting of the City Hall or the cultural center to LED technology House, renovation of 176 points of light in the municipal nursery, improved facilities solar collectors of sports centers or start system up existing solar panels in the municipal nursery, as well as reducing the power contracted in all these dependencies.
In total, these measures represent an investment of 228,233 euros, with the expected savings would be amortized in just over six years.
Second energy audit in Ceutí
In Ceuta, and also part of the project 'Elena-Fuensanta', info and conducted an energy audit focused on public lighting systems.
Then it proposed to reduce power contracted 68.8 percent and change all the lights, measures that would mean savings of 265,000 euros a year for the municipality, representing a decrease of 74.22 percent on your bill of the light.
'Elena-Fuensanta' is an initiative of the European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support projects on energy efficiency and renewable energy by the government and, in particular municipalities.
"They have to lead the fight against climate change so that together we can meet the targets set in the Europe 2020 agenda," said the director of Info.
The objectives set reduction by 20 percent of energy consumption, getting 20 percent of the energy consumed comes from renewable sources and reduce by 20 percent the emission of greenhouse gases by 2020. To achieve these ends the European project 'Elena-Fuensanta' plans to mobilize an investment of 40 million euros, which allows municipalities and other government save more than 4.5 billion euros on energy bills and reduce consumption energy, at least 40 percent and reduce CO2 emissions by over 11,800 tons per year.
