The University of Murcia and the City Council of Ceutí have signed a collaboration agreement on Wednesday for the creation of a permanent campus for university extension in the municipality.
As explained Mercedes Bernabé, director of Unimar and Permanent Headquarters, "one of the missions of the University of Murcia is to generate knowledge and culture, both in the university community and in society and their environment."
"The permanent seats are the ideal figure of university extension that allow to build bridges between the institution and the different municipalities," he added.
Bernabé has detailed that the purpose of this agreement is to develop joint activities aimed at continuing education, the promotion of culture and sports, as well as research activities that benefit both institutions.
In addition, it will intensify the approach to the secondary schools of the municipality of Ceutí to publicize the UMU among its students.
For his part, Juan Felipe Cano, mayor of Ceutí, has expressed his satisfaction for the signing of this agreement that will involve bringing the UMU to the municipality and has offered the support of the municipality to carry out all activities, as well as for the assignment of spaces.
