More attention to the Segura river and its surroundings as it passes through the Middle Vega.
That's what they claim the councils of the municipalities of Ceuta area, Molina de Segura, Las Torres de Cotillas, Archena, Lorquí and Alguazas-, whose representatives met on Monday September 14 in the molinense Consistory.
At that meeting the participants agreed to ask urgently a meeting with the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) entity responsible for the care and maintenance of the riverbed.
"Today the banks of the Segura and its boulevards have a state that is not adequate, with an accumulation of reeds that other problems arise," explains Councillor for Environment, Jesus Hernandez, who attended the meeting .
A meeting which was also attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras, the Lorquí, Joaquin Hernandez, Alguazas, Blas Angel Ruipérez, the first deputy mayor of Murcia, Andrés Luna, and the Councillor for the Environment molinense , Reme López.
The problems identified by the carelessness on the banks of the River Segura are as annoying as the presence of mosquitoes or as dangerous as possible fires such as occurred in Lorquí last 29 August- against future flooding or flooding the channel (especially in the near future by the expected cold snap so typical of this time of year).
"We also propose to the CHS the need for a comprehensive treatment of Segura, because in some areas the fund has grown so much that if it rains abundantly can cause dangerous flooding," Hernandez said.
