The new Health Centre Ceuta, where the regional government has invested almost four million euros, will serve a population of up to 14,000 inhabitants, according to the president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, during the inauguration of the new health infrastructure.
"It's a center with the latest technology built today, but also thought for the morrow, as it is planned to absorb population growth in the coming years," said Valcarcel after touring the new center, accompanied by the Minister of Health and Social Policy, María Ángeles Palacios.
For the regional chief executive, "this next construction ensures quality and health for all citizens will benefit from it, and improved working conditions for professionals who work in it."
In this regard, he stressed that the center has one of the most requested services by citizens, outpatient surgery, allowing them not having to travel to health center of reference for minor surgical procedures.
The new Health Center, located across the street from Ceuta Angel Guirao, an investment for construction and equipping of 3,987,197 euros and will cover the basic health area of ​​Ceuta No. 71 Integrated Health Area VI Vega Media Segura.
Currently, 10,297 are assigned to health cards, of which 8424 adults and 1873 correspond to Pediatrics.
The new center is built on a plot of 2566 meters square, with a floor area of ​​2,052 square feet on two floors.
The center has Administrative Area, Children, Consultation, Techniques, and an Area of ​​Women and other physiotherapy.
In total, there are eight family medicine consultations, five of Nursing, two consultations of Pediatrics and Child Nursing, Midwife, Therapy and Healing.
The new infrastructure also provides a minor surgery room, another extraction, diagnostic techniques, other than Kinesitherapy and several modules for waiting rooms.
The center is equipped with the necessary space to develop policies on the Promotion and Health Education aimed at the population or training activities aimed at practitioners.
Strengthening health care
The new center will have two services that lacked so far as it possesses Support Unit of Physical Therapy and Oral Health.
The launch of the Support Unit of Physiotherapy is to decongest the Rehabilitation Service, Hospital General Universitario Morales Meseguer, while the Oral Health Unit of care will reduce the number performed in the Oral Health Unit of Molina de Segura.
