Last Thursday 28 members July Garm (Animalista Group Murcia) brought two complaints in administrative proceedings before the Directorate General for Agriculture of the Autonomous Community of Murcia by manipulation, pursuit and capture of pigs in the event "hunting of the Marranos" held in Los Torraos (pedania of Ceuta) and the event "caught the pig" held in the hamlet of Murcia, El Esparragal.

Garm requires an investigation to determine whether it has violated the welfare of pigs and caused ill (suffering, anguish and fear) to them, which are prohibited by current legislation, including Royal Decree 1135/2002 on minimum standards protection of pigs and Law 32/2007 and the opinion of the Council of Europe on "the welfare of pigs", which makes it an offense to breach of the rules regarding the care and handling of animals;

and that the alleged responsibilities are determined subject to sanction, if any, and punish the organizers of these 'celebrations'.

This association has also asked the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment of the Region of Murcia, to agree to halt and suspend URGENT the event called "Enjoy pigs in mud" organized by the City of Ceuta next 13 August 2016, arguing that it violates European and national regulations to protect the welfare of pigs, causing suffering, anguish, fear and ultimately, ill-treatment that may also be subject to criminal sanction under the criminal Code ;

and if you continue with the scheduled activity is initiated by the agency Procedure Sanctioning those who might be responsible, and, where appropriate, the City of Ceuta should ensure that in their municipality are carried out best practices.

And this association to the criticisms made by Councilman Felipe Coello towards Let's change Murcia and Citizens to promote 'the catches of the pig' in El Esparragal, allegedly believes that this gentleman rather than criticize members of other parties without providing any evidence, as you should talk to his party colleague and mayor of Ceuta Don Juan Felipe Cano, to suspend the activity of the pigs in the mud, scheduled for August 13.
