The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, Antonio Luengo, visited Ceutí yesterday and held a meeting with representatives of the Irrigation Community, with whom he addressed different issues of relevance to farmers in the area.
Among the topics discussed is the state of the main ditch of Ceutí, whose retaining wall was seriously affected by the torrential rains of the Dana last September.
An infrastructure that the General Directorate of Water of the Ministry plans to fix to avoid the damage caused by poor water channeling that has suffered since that date.
For this reason, the meeting was attended by the mayors of Ceutí and Alguazas, municipalities harmed by the rupture and repair of the major ditch owned by the Hereditary of Aguas de Alguazas and the Inheritance of Aguas de Ceutí and to whom the counselor conveyed “the commitment of Regional government to solve this problem that complicates the care of crops and affects the production of the area â€.
“From the Ministry we work from the outset to assess all the damage caused by the Dana in farms and livestock, but also in infrastructure.
As a result of this work, a review of the state of the main ditch and a detailed assessment of the necessary actions has been carried out, which will allow the necessary work to be undertaken as soon as possible.
